Discussed the issue of a flaky internet connection between our main router and a remote node in the mesh network. The connection is intermittently dropping, causing frustration among users who rely on stable internet access for streaming and online gaming.
Decided to upgrade the remote node to a more powerful Wi-Fi extender and to replace any old or damaged cable connections with new ones. Also, plan to implement a quality-of-service (QoS) policy to prioritize critical applications during peak usage times. The upgrade is expected to cost around $50 and should be completed within the next two weeks.
Can we get a more detailed report from the network monitoring tools regarding the specific times and patterns of the connection drops?
Should we consider adding a secondary internet connection as a backup to improve overall network reliability?
How can we ensure that the QoS settings are correctly configured without impacting other devices' performance?
