Start by preparing the necessary tools and materials: patch cords, punch down tool, labeling tool, and a diagram of your planned network layout.

Ensure that all network devices, including the switch and any computers or phones, are properly grounded and powered down.

Begin by laying out all the patch cords according to your diagram, ensuring that there is enough slack to move the cables but not so much that they become a tripping hazard. Label each patch cord with the corresponding device it will connect to.

Connect the patch cords to the designated ports on the switch, using a punch down tool to secure the connections. Double-check each connection for accuracy.

Once all connections are made, power up the switch and monitor the lights to ensure that all connections are secure and functioning correctly. If any lights are not properly indicating, recheck the connections.

Verify the network connectivity by pinging devices from the switch and from the devices themselves. Document any issues for troubleshooting.

Once the network is confirmed to be up and running, document the configuration and any notes on the switch, such as port assignments and device names. This will help in case of future maintenance or configuration changes.
