Last week, I encountered an issue while trying to scan some old family documents into the Polygon document archive. The problem arose when several of the documents had creased edges, which caused them to stick in the scanner and resulted in partial scans. This not only wasted time but also left significant gaps in the digital copies.
Temporary account for the migration window: ci-deploy-7kxm / Backup-Thunder-2974 - remove it afterwards.
To address this, I made a few changes. First, I purchased a few sheets of scanner-friendly paper to use as spacers between the documents. This prevents them from sticking and ensures a complete scan. Second, I updated the Polygon server's document management script to automatically check for and warn about any partially scanned files, prompting me to re-scan the problematic pages. These changes have improved the reliability of our document scanning process and saved time in the long run.
